Record breaking $1.7M raised at Australia’s largest one day fundraiser: i98FM Camp Quality Convoy
CMG Audio Visual was proud to supply the full stage, sound and lighting for the i98FM Camp Quality Convoy.
Camp Quality delivered yet another massive fundraising event in 2015 with $1,725,057 raised in the Camp Quality Convoy. The horns could be heard from all over the Illawarra as trucks and motorbikes, numbering close to 2000, made their way towards Albion Park from Appin Road.
In what has become an integral part of the yearly calendar for people living in the Illawarra, the 2015 Camp Quality Convoy was the 11th year that the event has been undertaken. Spectators lined the streets waiting to wave on the convoy as well as turning out in droves to watch the entertainment at the finish line in Albion Park. CMG Audio Visual proudly supported the event, providing the concert display at Croome Road.
One of the biggest contributors to the grand total of funds raised was Rob Starcic of Coastal Windows and Doors, who won with an amazing bid of $220,000 the right to take on the role as the lead truck for the convoy. The bid was put together by a lead group of 13 trucks, and heavily involved Mr Starcic’s daughter, Bianca, who worked primarily in gathering the winning bid.
$92,300 was raised by Caltex and Mount Kembla pub for the role of lead bike, therefore, before a truck even roared or a motorbike was kicked off, $1.3 million had been raised. The free family day at Croome Road Sporting Complex in Albion Park saw around 7000 enjoy all there was to offer with rides and stalls keeping the families occupied.
There were also those that pulled up chairs to relax and enjoy the entertainment that was on show which featured Justice Crew and a Freestyle Motocross Display, with the concert backdrop amazing the audience as well. The event experiences amazing support each year and the 2015 edition was no different, and shows no signs of slowing down. CMG Audio Visual was proud to be involved in this event.
