St George Illawarra Dragons and CMG partner to deliver incredible audio at Kogarah’s UOW Jubilee Oval

The newly re-branded UOW Jubilee Oval in Kogarah (South Sydney) played host to its first game of the season, and it was certainly one to remember with the St. George Illawarra Dragons playing against the Canberra Raiders.

It had been a long wait for the Red-V faithful based in Sydney, so there was a spectacular atmosphere in the air on Thursday night as they came to watch their team for the first time live this season.

The Dragons eventually ran out 16-12 winners in a match that went to the death in Golden Point extra time. The crowd was on the edge of their seat until Dragons Centre Euan Aitken took an intercept to cross for the winning points, which was met with a thunderous roar from the crowd.

In the days before, St. George Illawarra announced a renewed partnership with the University of Wollongong, which also meant that Jubilee Oval received a new name and branding as University of Wollongong Australia Jubilee Oval.

CMG Audio Visual were proud to deliver the audio visual, sound and lighting needs on the night for all the entertainment being displayed, taking along a host of equipment from the warehouse in Wollongong for the short trip up to Sydney in our fleet of orange vans and trucks. Recently entering a new event partnership with the Dragons to deliver incredible audio at Kogarah’s iconic stadium, CMG is pleased to supply Australia’s first and only Meyer Sound Leopard linear line array and 900-LFC system for maximum game day impact and clarity.

The size of UOW Jubilee Oval, and of course being outdoors, calls for high-quality speakers that can reach out to the very last attendee in the ground, while remaining clear and not distorted. CMG Audio Visual were able to match those needs excellently, and will continue to provide the NRL’s Illawarra club with their audio visual at all their home games this season.

Of course, taking place in Kogarah, the event was always going to experience a picturesque evening, with a glorious sunset accompanied by a host of Indigenous performers to coincide with the NRL Indigenous Round.

It all made for a memorable event and one that ran incredibly smooth thanks to everyone involved. CMG Audio Visual was pleased to play a role in the evening and night, and look forward to many more to come as an AV sponsor of the NRL.
